Bogguss, an Illinois native, began her career on the folk music circuit before moving to Nashville in 1985.  Within a few years, she signed with Capitol Records and released the platinum-selling album Aces, which produced three top ten hits.  A cross-genre artist, Bogguss continues to stretch beyond country music with forays in swing, jazz, and folk.  American Folk Songbook was released in 2011 and was lauded by fans and critics as a modern interpretation of folk standards while staying true to the song.  In 2014, she gained recognition within Americana for Lucky, a collection of songs written by Merle Haggard.
